THE AMAZING IRONMAN 70.3 Perú 2024
The Xmart Healthy Living Ironman 70.3, among the most breathtaking triathlon competitions, unfolded on April 23 along Lima's Costa Verde, Peru, marking its 4th edition. It stands out as one of the finest sporting events I've had the privilege to both witness and capture through my lens.
From 4:30 am many athletes from different parts of the world began to arrive at the
"Costa Verde" of Lima.
During the initial phase of the event, participants swam 1.2 miles (1.9 km) in the waters off "Agua Dulce" Beach, heading towards the open sea. The water temperature ranged between 66-70 degrees Fahrenheit (19-21 Celsius).
Because of the high number of participants, athletes were grouped into small groups, some in pairs, and others by gender.
This is the precise moment when the first participants start emerging from the sea, ready to proceed to the cycling phase.
